Since its inception TIPE has been bringing speakers of national and international renown to Texas A&M at Qatar. These speakers come three to four times a year to share insight, provoke thought and stimulate conversation about some of the most complex and intriguing ethical issues of our times.

Over the years, the TIPE speaker series on Special Topics in Professional Ethics has become a well-established and highly regarded highlight of the university calendar. The series is also an integral part of community at Education City and the student associations at Texas A&M at Qatar. Those student associations include the Council of Debating Engineers (CODE), which participates in actively identifying scholars and prominent industry leaders whose research and professional experience throws light on the challenges inherent in enacting positive change and achieve sustainable development in a globalized and an increasingly interconnected world.

The TIPE speaker series also fulfills an important role by highlighting the branch campus’s commitment to public service in the community.
